Part I The story is about two young women who are Xiaoyanzi and Xia Ziwei seeking to look for Ziwei's long-lost father who is the Emperor Qianlong. Ziwei and her faithful maid Jinsuo had finally reached the capital, after months of traveling. But being just a commoner, it was a very difficult time for them to gain access to the palace, least to say meet the emperor. So they had sneaked into the magistrate's house during his son's wedding, to ask the magistrate to help them arrange a meet with the Emperor. At that same time Xiaoyanzi had posed as the bride and stolen some valuables belongings from the house. Xiaoyanzi as always started a big problem. She had fought some guards. But managed to escape, with the help of Ziwei and Jinsuo. Ziwei and Xiaoyanzi became to know each other very well., after running into each other couple more times. When Ziwei had used up all her money, XiaoYanZi invited them to stay at her place - a common house for the poor. Ziwei came to know that Xiaoyanzi often stole from the rich to help the people in the common house. They became close friends and decided to become sisters. Ziwei then told Xiaoyanzi her true identity. That she is the daughter of Qianlong and Xia Yuhe (ziwei's mother), an women the Emperor fellen in love with 19 years ago. Xiaoyanzi was shocked at first, but still believed her. She began to help Ziwei think of ways to meet Qianlong. Soon she had a plan, that is, to meet Qianlong when he goes hunting in the wilds. But a mountain blocked the place so they first had to climb past it to get to Qianlong. Ziwei and Jinsuo were too weak to do this, so Ziwei trusted Xiaoyanzi with the task of telling Qianlong about Xia Yuhe. She had given XianYanZi, Qianlong's fan and painting as evidence of her identity. Xiaoyanzi did managed to reach the hunting ground, but was shot with an arrow by Yong Qi and was seriously injured. Qianlong saw the fan and painting, and swiftly concluded that Xiaoyanzi was his daughter! Xiaoyanzi became too sick to explain the mistake. When she finally awoke, she was so touched by Qianlong's fatherly love that she decided to keep the truth for a while to enjoy life as a Ge Ge. But she was ultimately a commoner, illiterate, bold and rash, always getting into some trouble with court rules, often with hillarious results. Qianlong liked her very much and gave her an name with the title of "Huan Zhu Ge Ge". Ziwei outside the palace had saw Xiaoyanzi and believed that Xiaoyanzi betrayed her trust. As angry and hurt Ziwei was she had try to get XiaoyanZi to notice her. But was beaten from the kings guard order from Er Kang. Er Kang had fallen in love with her when he laid eyes on her. He then took Ziwei and Jinsuo to his home to meet the Fu Family. Er Kang and Er Tai's father, Fu Lun, who is thee prime minister, while Er-Kang and Er-Tai are the Emperor's protectors. They listened to Ziwei's story. Both boys (Wu A Ge / Er Tai) went to talk to Xiaoyanzi in the palace to ask who is supposed to be the real Ge Ge, who is to be Ziwei, and not Xiaoyanzi. But, even though Xiaoyanzi is eager to return Ziwei as the real Ge Ge, it was unwise to tell Qianlong the truth. As it may cause harm to the Fu family and especially Xiaoyanzi since she lied to the emperor. Ziwei herself may be executed if Qianlong is to not believe her. Because the Empress was so jealous of Xiaoyanzi, she was always trying to find ways to get XianYanZi in trouble. To let Qianlong know of Ziwei's existence, and to find a chance to tell him the truth, all six of the kids agreed that Ziwei must enter the palace as Xiaoyanzi's maid.. The plan was successful. Ziwei had even managed to impress Qianlong with her knowledge and intelligence. But she incurred the wrath of the Empress, who suspected it was Xiaoyanzi and YinHue play to use Ziwei to trick the Emperer. Qianlong eventually fell in love with Ziwei so much that he planned to make her his wife! At the same time, he set up Er Kang to Saiya, a princess from another country (great fighter). Little did he realise that Er Kang and Ziwei had fallen in love for each other, and that 'siblings' Yong Qi and Xiaoyanzi were in love. Soon, they were all forced to tell Qianlong the truth, that Ziwei was his daughter, and Er Kang cannot marry Saiya. Qianlong was so furious that he sent the three girls, Ziwei, Xiaoyanzi and Jinsuo to jail. The Empress then seized the opportunity to torture them. They were almost killed, (They were being wiped) but just in time by their beloved Er Kang and Yong Qi had saved them. Qianlong eventually forgave all of them, as he liked Xiaoyanzi and Ziwei too much to punish them. He acknowledged Ziwei as his daughter who was then known as "Ming Zhu Ge Ge' and betrothed Ziwei and Xiaoyanzi to Er Kang and Yong Qi respectively.
Part II It was the twenty-fifth year of Qiang Long's ruling. That year, Alihezhuo, a distant king brought his favorite daughter Princess Han Xiang to Beijing so that he could give her to the great Emperor of the middle kingdom as a present to show his gratitude. Poor Han Xiang had already fallen in love with someone else that time, he was called Mong Dan. The King's mother finished from her praying in the mountains and decided to return to the palace. Xiao Yan Zi's rude manners and unacceptable way of speaking distressed the King's mother a great deal. The Queen and Rong Muo Muo were at the time adding fuel to fire which made the King's mother doubt more of Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei's true identity. Qiang Long was greatly pleased with his present from Alihezhuo but Han Xiang was not a bit thrilled. She told of her story to Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei, they were touched by her story and decided to help her in any way. They asked for Liu Qing anf Lui Hong's help for they owned a resturaunt in Beijing . Mong Dan was badly injured from trying to kidnap Han Xiang and was coincidentally saved by Wu A Ge and Er Kang. Everyone was touched after hearing their tragic love story and all promised to help them elope. On the other hand, Qiang Long had already married Han Xiang and named her - Xiang Fei ( mistress Xiang ). The King's mother cared for Qing Er(another princess) dearly and wanted badly to engage her to Er Kang but when she heard that two of her favorite boys -Wu A Ge and Er Kang were both already engaged to two of her most disliked grand daughters - Xiao Yan and Zi Wei, she was furious. Zi Wei and Xiao Yan Zi were punished several times for not abeying the rules, partly because of the King mother's rage. One day, everyone went to Gui Bin Lo - Lui Qing/Hong's resturant, there - they met Qiao Jian. Wu A Ge thought that he and Xiao Yan Zi were alike in many ways, it turned out later in the story that Xiao Jian was Xiao Yan Zi's long lost brother. The queen mother disliked Xiao Yan Zi more and more and because Xiang Fei was close to Xiao Yan Zi and attempted murdering the King, she was giving poison to drink by the King mother. By this, Xian Fei nearly died but she was saved in the last minute by Mong Dan who risked his life in rushing into the forbidden palace. The gang thought the time was right and help Mong Dan and Xiang Fei elope. This was soon found out by the Emperor, he was furious and out of his mind so therefore set the date for his two favorite daughters' deaths. Xiao Yan Zi, Zi Wei, Wu A Ge, Er Kang, Xiao Jian , Lui Qing and Lui Hong escaped from Beijing on the day of Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei's hanging. They promised all, not to return to the palace (which they now called memory city) ever again.The King was already thinking over everything and trying to get his childrens back so he sent his men to find them. The Queen, on the other hand, sent men of her own to secretly kill them all. After the King noticed people trying to kill Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei...etc, he went personally to find them and apoligize for his selfishness. Zi Wei was the first to give in and agreed to go back to the palace and of course if one returned, all did.After their return, all the Queen's bad deeds were told to the King mother, she was enraged and ordered for the Queen's seperation from her son and the abandonment from the King ( meaning be divorced ). Surprisingly, Zi Wei begged for the King mother's forgiveness, this shocked the Queen and she was felt grateful to Zi Wei. After, everything went back to the way it used to be. The Queen and Rong Muo Muo hand sewed Zi Wei and Xian Yan Zi's wedding gowns to prove their sincerity. ( It was gratefully accepted )Xiao Jian was invited to Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei's wedding, there, he met Qing Er and fell fro her immediately. That night Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei finally wedded Wu A Ge and Er Kang.
